OldDominion Rhiannon

Pure Bred Cleveland Bay Mare- CBHS No. 163 USA

Rhiannon is a very big girl with a heart & soul just as big to match. She is one of the sweetest and most endearing animals on four legs here at ODS. Rhiannon is a Band E mare.  Rhiannon is a giant amongst Cleveland Bays.  At the age of two years old Rhiannon stood  17.0  hh with cannon bone measuring 9.375".  Rhiannon was a quite a large foal who grew very rapidly.  As such she developed OCD in her hind hocks due to this large size and unusually rapid growth.  Veterinary experts have told us that  they expect her OCD was growth related issue which manifested because of her large size and rapid growth. While she is not lame and does not experience any discomfort she does have noticeable swelling in both her hocks.  In spite of this condition she would still make for a very nice pleasure riding horse.  Should she remain at ODS we will breed her to a stallion smaller in stature in the hopes that such a stallion would offer a good contrast to her height and make for a more average sized foal.  Rhiannon would be offered for sale to the right home for $8,500.  She will be ready to breed next spring.   Rhiannon's Pedigree
